He grew up on the Gold Coast (QLD) with a constant suntan, a soccer ball by his side, and racing his family greyhounds.
From a Catholic upbringing, Dom became a Christian at university (UNE, Armidale NSW) after understanding that the gospel is a message of grace, centred on having a relationship with Jesus rather than mere religion. Before studying theology at Moore College (Sydney), Dom worked as an accountant. He served in Anglican Churches (Sydney), at Crossroads (Canberra), and since 2003 has been involved in church planting across Canberra.
He and Leslie love Southside as it enables them to minister to people from all ages, stages and cultures. Dom’s main role is preaching God’s Word, vision-casting, and prayer. He is currently undertaking a Masters degree part-time through Sydney Missionary and Bible College (SMBC).
Jayan grew up in Chennai (India) in a Hindu family right next door to a temple. He describes that Jesus saves sinners of whom he was chief mischief maker and culprit. As a ‘problem’ teenager he stumbled upon Jesus while reading a New Testament and frankly is yet to find His Saviour boring! After twelve years of working in the APS as an Engineer and manager, Jayan completed a Graduate Diploma of Divinity through Sydney Missionary and Bible College (SMBC) and joined the pastoral team at Southside in 2018. Jayan’s role as the Community Pastor involves leading ministries that support the spiritual maturity of the growing church community, preaching the Word of God, and promoting the gospel at every opportunity. Jayan is currently undertaking a Masters in Divinity through SMBC (part-time).
